Hey Blasters fans!

Thanks to all who made it out last weekend to Hogsback Breweries 2nd Birthday Bash. This was our first show at the The Elmdale House Tavern in Hintonburg and surely will not be our last. We love this place, from the original decorations circa 1970 to the jar of pickled eggs on the bar…classic. Here is an article from the Ottawa Citizen that ran April 30, a week after the show.

[C]hicago blues fans were treated to another sold out night of fabulous music at The Elmdale House Tavern on April 21 by one of Ottawa’s premier charity bands, Barry and the Blasters.

This night’s event was in support of Christie Lake Kids. Also present to add welcome support was Ottawa’s own HogsBack Brewing Company, which celebrated its second year of successful operation in the region.

The combination of hot blues provided by the Blasters, tasty sliders donated by HogsBack and non-stop dancing made the evening a huge success, raising $3,800 for Christie Lake Kids.

The evening captured a real sense of what our community is all about — getting together to make a difference for those in need.

Christie Lake Kids is a registered charity that provides year-round recreational and skills building programs for economically disadvantaged youths.

Together we raised over $3800 for Christie Lake Kids from ticket sales alone! Christie Lake Kids is a wonderful organization that provides assistance to struggling inner city youth, read a touching testimonial of one of their campers here. A very special thanks foes out to Peter Croal for taking another set of great pictures.
